2017 Resolutions Review
I have now forgotten why these were the resolutions I had noted earlier this year. It's funny because I kinda forgot about them anyway, but looking at it again, I realized I had completely veered off from what I originally intended to do.
1. Zero Tolerance for Junk Foods
Reading this now seems a bit extreme. But one thing I realized is that you can't be overly critical on yourself when you don't reach goals. For this, Zero tolerance is and was impossible. But It did limit the amount of Junk I consumed. The most honest count I can make is around 11 instances when I had a junk food. If I had been critical of myself, that number might be higher, or I would have stopped with the resolution entirely.
Rating for this: 8/10
2. Minimal for Soft Drinks, only when water is not available.
I think I had way more water this year than carbonated beverages. It does help in the back of your mind when you know you're not consuming something not as healthy.
Rating: 7/10
3. No new books until after march. Easy. 10/10
4. No new investments until after January. Yep. 10/10
5. Devote time for new people
The thing about this now is I don't know how to judge if I did well on this or not. The lesson is next time set some guidelines. Or illustrate on what success is. If it was purely on gut reaction, I'd say 6/10
6. Hey you know, sleep on regular time.
Yea well, definitely needs more work while I'm typing this on a 12:32 AM clock. 5/10
7. Plan Something for Exercise
This needs more attention. Was able to sustain a routine early in the year, but leveled off to something too easy around the end. 6/10
8. Learn 1 hard song every 3 months
Okay, 3/10. I only learned the intro to Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker. A lot of simple ones by punk bands.
So my final grade would be 68.75%. Wow. On standard grading schemes that would be a failure. Being a sort of math nerd, my mind went to placing weights of importance to the goals so the score would balance out. Anyway, that's that.
On to the next!
