Valentines
Nothing too special. It's alright. I'm not down in the dumps or anything.I just know my place. And i'm cool with it. This is a pretty content moment in my life right now. Yes, there are things I can always do better, and there are circumstances I'm working to get to.
It's all good fun. Valentines. At least, that's the way i see it now. It's the one day out of 365 to celebrate love. Obviously, that's a tough environment to be in if you're single. But it shouldn't be.
I think the reason why some people find Valentines harsh, is that the environment forces you to focus on what you don't have. And that's true. Everywhere you look, there are couples out and about. Flowers and chocolates being exchanged. And maybe you can't help but to compare yourself. That's a tricky thing to maneuver yourself out.
Then again, it shouldn't be like that. The day's meant to celebrate love, not simply being in a relationship. The fact that you're alive and just by being born out of love by people around you, that's love in itself.
On a more serious note, i once gave a talk, i don't know why i said it but i said something like "You know there are many forms or levels of love. On a more new, or more regular kind of love, maybe you had a crush when you were young, or just acknowledging the existence of your lousy neighbors, that's love.
The highest, most purest of form of love, i think, is that willingness to die for someone, or something, or some idea you believe in." at this point i joke terribly "so if you say i love you to someone, or they say i love you to you, ask them, "Are you willing to die for me?" then i crack "just kidding".
I've been reading more into this. why? I don't know why, because it's in season?
Anyway, I found some blogs, some have really great contents. I especially like the ones, describing untranslatable words of love to English.

I did not know "Kilig" does not have a directly English translation.
I especially like the concept of Koi No Yokan:
Why I like those two words at this moment, i don't know. maybe that's my current state of affairs.
