The Rules of the Game (1939)
The Rules of the Game (1939 - France) I'm not sure if this was a representation of the people and era it was in. If it were, i'm thinking it could be a set of people only. Like a small group or class. First overall impressions about it, is that it's like a teen movie with an older age group. People running around chasing "love". It's like a smack of nobility and adolescent impulses. Or maybe people just don't grow up. To be fair, it was informative. So this is how, people in the that time spent their time. This is how they party. They spend a couple days in someone's "castle"; Hunt for rabbits, quails and dogs; watch a small theater with everyone else as well and chase around their lovers and their lover's lovers. Take away quotes: " The awful thing about life is this: Everybody has their reasons." The character says this when he is faced with the fact that he has to please two people with conflicting interest...
